Android 6.0 Marshmallow Now Available on Infinix Note 2


The much anticipated Over The Air (OTA) update for has arrived for Infinix Note 2 users.  In the updated list of smartphones that will receive Android 6.0 marshmallow update, it was not included but Infinix Mobile have left no stone unturned.

Before now, users of infinix Note 2 has to download the raw file and flash it into the phone manually. This was because Google release updates in batches.

For you to successfully update your Infinix Note 2, you should ensure that your phone is properlly unrooted otherwise you may end up with a fail to update or probably a bricked phone.

  • Device will upgrade to android Marshmallow
  • XUI upgraded to 1.N.3.0
  • XACCOUNT registration added to startup guide.

  • Added quick wallpaper swap for enhanced customization. Long press the Idle interface, select a key switch wallpaper from the widget
  • Screen Record upgraded to V1.0; record toggle added to notification bar.
  • Added Xshare function with QR delivery.
  • Optimized communication module interaction and visuals.
  • XACCOUNT registration added to startup guide.
  • Optimized system stability and performance while fixing other issues.

Before you update your Infinix NOTE 2 to Android 6 Marshmallow

It is recommended that users remove their SD card before installing the update to avoid files saved on it disappearing. I recommend that you backup ALL the files you have in the internal storage too.

How Can I Upgrade my Infinix NOTE 2, X600 to Android 6.0?

  • Make sure your Infinix Note 2 is above 50% charge or simply connect your charger to your device before you download the OTA upgrade.
  • Navigate to Settings>>About Phone>>System Updates and click Check for Update. You should make sure you have good internet connection. Click here for how to get cheap data plans
  • The OTA download is around 716MB. Wait for it to finish downloading and it will request for a rebooth.
  • Rebooth and viola! Welcome to Android 6.0 marshmallow.
