Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect, left for London on British Airways with embattled Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, today, May 22.
It has been reported by Sahara Reporters that, according to sources, Buhari is going for a planned trip.
Several aides and close supporters of the president-elect said they were surprised when they got to know of the trip because they were with him till 7.00pm last night briefly on his arrival from his hometown, Duara.
Naij reported that, a source inside Buhari’s family said he was traveling to London for the weekend and is likely to return to Nigeria on Tuesday, in time for the inauguration ceremony.
The Petroleum minister according to African Spotlight, had been billed to travel to the UK next week Tuesday , however upon hearing that the president-elect was traveling to London, she swiftly asked the airline to book her on the same flight with Buhari so that she could have a chance to discuss directly with him. The British Airways flight departed Abuja 900hrs this morning.
