How to Download and Use Recycle Bin for Android Phones


Today, we shall be looking at how to download and use recycle bin for Android phones. Recycle bin is a familiar concept known to every Windows users. The recycle bin is a special folder used to recover accidental deleted files. You may say it is a temporary file storing system, which helps us to recover our important files and folders on Windows operating system.

Users of Mac operating system knows it as Trash can and it preforms the same task like that of windows PC.

Sometimes we use Ctrl+A+delete to permanently delete all file from a folder and at such times, some important files are also deleted which puts us under tension. To rescue from these types of problem, there is a recycle bin, which assistance us to restore deleted files.


In Android, such feature does not exist. once you delete any file on Android it ends up permanently deleted. If you or any of your friends accidentally deletes anything on your android phone or tablet, then you’ll lose it forever. Just think for a moment, how it’ll be, if there is a recycle bin on your Android. Yes, you can now activate the Android recycle bin feature by using Dumpster.

Dumpster is a simple and light weight application, which enables a recycle bin features on your Android device. Dumpster works just like the recycle bin on your personal computer. Once installed, Dumpster temporarily contains any deleted file till you decide to permanently delete it. This includes photos, videos, audio files, documents and etc.
Let’s know, how it works.

  1. Download and Install Dumpster app from play store.
  2. Open the application and accept Terms and Conditions if asked, otherwise, you may want to go through the Tour or simply skip to the main app interface.
  3. Go to settings and make sure all buttons of what you want Dumpster to save are properly turned on.
  4. You are now ready to use Dumpster as a recycle bin.

Dumpster works on non-rooted phones, as well as rooted phones. However, enabling root access will improve Dumpster performance in regards to memory and battery consumption. Also, in Settings, you’ll get an Auto Clean option, which is used to clean your deleted files on a given time period. In case you are unfamiliar with the term “root”, you may want to read it up here.


Also, if you have task killer installed on your Android device, Dumpster will not perform properly. You will need to change your task killer configuration, so that it won’t interfere with Dumpster processes.
