Telegram messenger seems to finally have an edge over popular facebook owned WhatsApp messenger. A new updates is now available for Telegram – Telegram v3.9.0 – which brings a few changes which includes message editing, mentioning any member and adding chat shortcut to home screen making it the first of it’s kind in chat applications.
Active users of WhatsApp, which is over a billion, cannot edit messages after they have sent it to a person or have shared it in a group but Telegram in a blog post announced that its users, currently 100 million monthly users, can edit messages after sending them.
The WhatsApp rival said in the post “Farewell to typos! Starting today, you can edit the text of your messages after sending them. This works across all Telegram chats, including groups and one-on-one conversations” and today, this article is going to guide you on how to edit sent message on latest Telegram Messenger app.
In addition to edited texts, Telegram also said that it was adding a ‘mentions’ feature. “Mentioning other people in groups is handy since it sends them a notification about your message even if they muted the group. Starting with this update, you can mention any members in a group – even if they don’t have a username. Just type the @ symbol and select whoever you would like to address,” the company explained.
Edit Sent Message on Latest Telegram Messenger
With a simple tap of your message, you can edit sent messages up to 2 days after sending. To edit a sent text, Users can simply tap and hold on a message, then press ‘Edit’. “If you’re on desktop, press the up arrow button to edit your last message. Edited messages are marked with a simple ‘edited’ label so everyone knows you’ve changed your original message after the fact.
