Launch: Adobe ‘Project Rigel’ Photoshop App for iOS in October

0

Adobe is all set to release a new Photoshop app for iOS in October this year. Dubbed as ‘Project Rigel, the company will release an Android version of the photo editing app later.

The Project Rigel app is expected to sport many powerful and commonly used features from desktop Photoshop like content-aware fill and spot healing. The app’s interface offers a menu of editing options across the bottom and pop-out tool adjustments on the left side. Some powerful tools such as “dodge” and “burn” will be renamed to “lighten” and “darken”. Adobe further plans to add a facial recognition tool to the mobile app.

Project Rigel is also expected to be free and users will need a Creative Cloud subscription to use it. This is not the first time Adobe is launching photo editing related mobile apps. Prior to this, Adobe had launched Photoshop Touch which it recently discontinued and the more consumer-oriented Photoshop Express and Lightroom for mobile.
